Jim Thorpe, known as Mauch Chunk and East Mauch Chunk until 1954, is a borough in and the county seat of Carbon County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of Northeastern Pennsylvania. It is the burial site of Native American sports legend Jim Thorpe, who had no connection with the town in his lifetime. As of the 2020 census, Jim Thorpe had a population of 4,507.
